Why are our politicians treated like gods

We keep on hearing that nothing is being done for rural people. Government keeps on rolling out new policies and programs without actually implementing them to the perfection. In the whole process, one or the other politician takes away all the money and we get news about a new scam.

Everyone says 'politicians are people's servants chosen by the masses' . But my mind gets boggled by the fact that their lives are considered to be so precious while common people keep on dying everyday in a huge number.

I would like to bring one fact forward here. All these politicians, be it a VVIP figure like Mr Narendra Modi or a not-so-known MP, get a fleet of personal security guards. When they travel, they have atleast 5 police jeeps following them and many state owned ambulance waiting at every district border. If each one of them decides to reduce his fleet by one police jeep, the money saved would at least be enough to feed a couple of starving villages. It will also free up a lot of police force, which can then be used to make places like Delhi secure for women. Are their lives so much more important than hundreds of starving villager's and even more important than our sister's , mother's , wife's ??

Many such steps would actually reduce the need of extravagant programs being rolled out by the govt., which in return would reduce the number of scams taking place.

Are they so important to us that we are endangering the lives of so many people just to protect these cons who in turn steal hundreds of crore in a single scam.?

It is a sad picture and worse is the fact that nobody raises a voice against it. :(

tehalka's tarun tejpal's case : some observations which nobody is bringing up

Last couple of weeks have been really dramatic for Mr. Tejpal. Though I agree, such an action, whether it was consensual or not, should not have happened at first place. I mean, she is literally his daughter's age. But there are some issues, though not related to the case, about which no law agency or government agency seem to be bothered. I would like to mention them and would appreciate response from all of you. They are as follows :
1) We all saw media people recording Mr Tejpal while he was flying to Goa.

But isn't that not allowed inside a plane for security reasons????? So why is then aviation ministry not taking any action against them.

2)  When there was no formal complaint made yet, on what basis was the probe started.
In normal cases, police won't start long after the complaint even, but here it was quite opposite. Is common man not entitled to a swift justice???

Though I appreciate the speed at which the probe is being carried on, but I feel sad that this doesn't happen in ordinary cases.

But I sincerely hope, this probe is carried out in a fair and just manner :)
